"7 Things Students Want to Know"
- Am I in the right room? I will be at the door waiting for you to arrive. You may have had to opportunity to come to our open house before the first day of school, but do not worry if you could not make it. I will send out post cards prior to school starting with my name and our room number so you will know where you are going. There will be many people on the first day to help make sure you get to the proper class.
- Where am I supposed to sit? I will have every desk in our classroom clearly marked with a students name on it. I will be more than happy to help you find your desk if you need help.
- What are the rules in this classroom? Many of our classroom rules and procedures will be posted on the wall. For those that are not, as a class we will go over them to make sure every student knows what he or she has to do. I will also have a copy of our classroom rules and consequences to send home to every student so that they may review them with their parents.
- What will I be doing this year? You will be learning this year. In the first two weeks of school we will be learning how to be responsible for our behavior and our learning. In order to be successful learners, we need to understand how to do things.
- How will I be graded? You will be graded fairly and accurately on the work you do. As long as you are working to your up most ability, you will be successful. I will be here making sure that I give you all of the strategies and tools to help you succeed.
- Who is the teacher as a person? I will have a "Who is Mr. Wicker" section in our class. This will let you know that I am a person, just like you.
- Will the teacher treat me as a human being? I will treat each and every student with respect and understanding.
